Kısır

Kısır is a simple, healthy and delicious vegan recipe found in Turkish cuisine. It’s one of the easiest recipe which can be prepared in very short time. The people like me who are confused of what to prepare for the work or after work meal, this will be one of the greatest choice. Lets dive into how to prepare the recipe.

Kisir

Ingredients :

  • ½ cup bulgur (Extra fine)
  • ½ cup water boiling hot
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • ½ tablespoon chilli paste
  • 1 tablespoon virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon pomegranete sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tomato
  • ½  cucumber
  • ½ Lettuce
  • 2 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 2 Onions
  • Salt

Method:

  • Put the bulgur into a bowl and cover with boiling water. Set aside to absorb the water around 10 minutes while you prepare everything else.
  • Finely chop the onions. In a pan, pour the olive oil and fry the chopped onions until its semi brown in colour.
  • Meanwhile, mix together the dressing ingredients – the tomato paste, olive oil, pomegranate jus, chilli paste, salt and lemon juice.
  • Dice the cucumber, Lettuce and tomato relatively small and finely chop the parsley.
  • Once the bulgur has absorbed the water, drain off any excess water then mix through the dressing. Add and stir through the fried onion, tomato, cucumber.Lettuce and parsley.
  • Serve it with fresh lemon, Pomegranate Sauce and the Lettuce.
